We are excited to announce our SOS is returning! Starting in late June, into July, and through the beginning of August YVC of Charleston will provide youth with service-learning events and leadership.
The Summer of Service (SOS) is an opportunity through the Mayor’s Office for Children, Youth, and Families in partnership with Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) of Charleston.
Who: While leadership days will be offered exclusively to rising (2022-2023 school year) 7th and 8th graders there will be service-learning event opportunities available to all 11-18-year-old YVC members.
Where: We will be programming from the CE Williams Middle School North Campus (1776 William Kennerty Drive, Charleston, SC 29407), but will have service days at varying locations based on the organization(s) we serve.
How to Sign Up: In order for youth to participate in the event(s) of their choice they must have a current YVC profile and parent waiver on file. The profile and parent waiver can be found here. Once they have a current waiver on file they can visit our website or check the email listed on the waiver to register for the event(s) of their choosing. In addition to the YVC website, details of each week will be provided via email through our e-newsletter.
Already have a waiver on file but want to be extra sure you don’t miss the emails? Maybe you had a change of email and you’re unsure which email is listed? Maybe you want to add another address to the list? Simply click the button below to be added regardless.
